Chatham Rampage Leads To Several Charges

A 28-year-old Chatham man has been charged with multiple offences after two separate incidents.

Police say on Sunday at around 6am, a van nearly ran over a pedestrian standing on the sidewalk on Thames St.

The pedestrian called police and officers found the van in a parking lot a few hours later, still running with a man inside who seemed to be unconscious.

Officers believed the man was impaired by a drug and say he allegedly resisted arrest.

Police say the same man was arrested on Monday at around 10am after a woman, who had a relationship with him for years, reported him for allegedly assaulting and threatening her and causing damage to her house.

The woman told police that he appeared to be high and was angry with her.
