No Jail For Mielczarek

A Chatham man is very lucky he won't have to do any jail time for breaking his bail conditions.

Timothy Mielczarek breached his bail conditions February 16, the day after being sentenced to six months house arrest for bigamy.

The court heard that 45-year-old Mielczarek drove to his parole supervisor when he was suspended from driving as part of his bail conditions.

Defence Attorney Dave Jacklin says "it's a good decision considering his client spent 12 days in jail after his breach."

When asked if his client will learn from this close call, Jacklin says "he hopes so."

The Justice says Mielczarek "got a break because this is his only free pass" and warned if he breaks his bail conditions again, "he will go back to jail to serve the rest of his time."
