CK Police Crisis Team Is Being Kept Busy

The Chatham-Kent Police HELP Mobile Crisis Team is dealing with more attempted suicides and mental health issues than ever before.

Officers responded to 846 incidents last year, which Chief Gary Conn says has doubled over the last decade.

The team has a trained officer and a psychiatric nurse and provides assessment at the scene when appropriate to avoid lengthy waits at the emergency department.
