Chatham Water Awards

Chatham has a new program called 'Water Does Wonders Awards Program' to urge children to drink more water and less sweetened drinks.

Annie Lukacsovics is the coordinator for Super Kids CK and says community groups, teams, schools and facilities are encouraged to apply for funding to get equipment like water dispensers and bottled water filling stations that promote drinking more water.

Facilities can apply for up to $3,000 at ckphu.com until January 20th.

Lukacsovics says "healthy hydration is as important as healthy eating."

She adds sweetened beverages often replace vegetables and fruit and providing an environment that doesn't sell sugary drinks is the best option.
