Street Sales Kicking Off The Weekend

It's that time of year where the Chatham Goodfellows will be lining the streets as part of their "No Child Without a Christmas" campaign.

Director Tim Mifflin says volunteers will be wearing red aprons during "Street Sales," accepting monetary donations.

"In return we give them (contributors) a copy of the Goodfellows [news]paper," says Mifflin.

During last year's street sales raised about $34,500, but Mifflin says they never set a target.

"We just rely upon the generosity of the citizens of Chatham-Kent and they've always come through for us," he says. "We're very, very appreciative."

Mifflin says volunteers will be stationed in several location around Chatham, including the downtown core, the Walmart Plaza, and the Thames Lea Plaza.

Street Sales will run from December 16 to December 17.
