No Injuries After Hwy. 401 Crash

Chatham-Kent OPP say poor road conditions are getting the blame for a tractor trailer crash that shut down the westbound Hwy. 401 overnight.

Police say the truck slid on the roadway and hit a Jersey barrier near Communication Rd., which caused it to jack knife and block both of the westbound lanes of the highway.

One of the truck's fuel tanks also broke open, spilling diesel fuel onto the highway.

The 66-year-old Wheatley man behind the wheel wasn't hurt as a result of the crash.

The highway has since re-opened.
