Assault In A Drive-Thru

A 54-year-old man is in trouble with the law after allegedly throwing a handful of dirt into the face of a driver who was going through a drive-thru in Chatham.

Police say the man approached the driver at around 4:30pm Monday and asked him for some cigarettes and some money.

Officers say when the driver turned him down, the man allegedly threw a handful of dirt into his face.

Police were later able to locate the man on Keil Dr. and took him into custody. He's charged with assault with a weapon.
