Watford Woman Killed, Three Injured In Crash

A Watford woman has died while three others were injured, including a young child, in a two-vehicle crash in Plympton-Wyoming.

Lambton OPP say at about 10:45am on Saturday, officers responded to the intersection of London Line and Forest Rd.

Police say a 24-year-old man from Harrow, was driving a Dodge Dakota pickup truck north on Forest Rd. approaching a stop sign at London Line. They say the pick-up failed to stop and struck a Lincoln Town Car travelling west on London Line.

The lone occupant of the Lincoln, a 67-year-old woman from Watford, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck suffered significant injury, but was considered to be medically stable. Two passengers of the pick-up, a 24-year-old female and a 9-month-old child, suffered minor injuries. All were transported to hospital.

The OPP Technical Traffic Investigation Unit, Regional Coroner’s Office, and the Plympton-Wyoming Fire Department were assisting with the investigation. Police anticipate the intersection of London Line and Forest Rd. will be closed until about 6pm. Detour and road closure signs were up.

The name of the deceased was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

OPP ask witnesses to the crash to call Lambton OPP at 519-882-1011.
