CS Wind Announces Temporary Shutdown In Windsor

CS Wind Canada is shutting down its Windsor plant for six weeks, due to a "gap between production orders."

Officials with the company say the plant and its 345 employees will not operate between July 25 and just after Labour Day. They'll be spending the summer putting in preventative maintenance for equipment, and preparing for new contracts scheduled for the end of the year.

"The CS Wind Canada management team worked around the clock to pull some...orders forward to avoid a summer shutdown," says General Affairs Manager Donna Kinsman-Jackson in a news release. "But they could not be moved ahead as we hoped."

The company's 48-acre facility on Windsor's Anchor Dr. first opened in 2011.
