Grassy 2 Rock Showcases Chatham-Kent

Mitchell's Bay will be in the spotlight on Saturday as hundreds of boaters head to Grassy 2 Rock.

The concert features three local bands performing on a barge out in Lake St. Clair.

Chatham-Kent Mayor Randy Hope is helping organize the event, and says it's a great way to showcase the community.

"It's a way of identifying who we are as a community, and hopefully attracting more people to take a second look at us as to a community you'll be able to live, work, and play at," says Hope. "It's one more way of getting Chatham-Kent's name out there in a positive way."

The concert gets underway at noon today and runs until 6pm.

Chatham-Kent police and OPP, Canada Border Services, the Canadian Coast Guard and American law enforcement will patrol Lake St. Clair and highways around the area.
