ATV Driver Found Lying On Highway Charged

A Bothwell man is now facing drunk driving charges after he was found lying in the middle of Longwoods Rd. next to a stolen ATV, police say.

Officers were called to Longwoods Rd. near Bothwell around 9pm on March 12.

Investigators say he was using a stolen ATV when he lost control and was thrown onto the road.

He was taken to Four Counties Hospital in Newbury and then was airlifted to a London hospital.

John Dingman, 56, of Bothwell now faces charges of impaired driving, driving while disqualified, possession of property obtained by crime, unlawfully driving an ORV on a highway, three counts of driving under suspension and seven additional off road vehicle infractions; including driving with no insurance, licence or helmet.

Dingman has since been released from hospital.
