Amber Alert For Aurora Girl Ended

York Regional Police say the 4-year-old girl who was the subject of an early morning Amber Alert has been found safe.

Police say Julia Dela Cruz, 4, was taken by her father from her mother's Aurora home around 4:30 on Monday morning.

She was found around 10:30am in the Pembroke area.

Mario Rodrigues' 2008 Toyota Sienna van was spotted on a highway in the Pembroke area, after police released a suspect and vehicle description.

The van rolled during a high-risk take down. The girl was transported by air ambulance to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa with non-life threatening injuries.

Rodrigues is in hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The Special Investigations Unit is probing the crash because OPP officers were pursuing the vehicle when it rolled over.

Police say the girl's father forced his way into the mother's home and took the girl while she was sleeping.
