'Maddie Is In The B Finals'

After finishing just short in the Olympic qualifiers for the 100 m backstroke this morning, Wallaceburg's Madison Broad has been unexpectedly put into the B division finals.

Pool Shark coach Kyle Pinnsoneault says everyone assumed she was out of the finals, then the situation changed.

"Two people have scratched from the final, it could be for many different reasons, maybe they want to focus on another event, now Maddie is in the B finals," he says. "It's been a very emotional day, and hopefully smooth sailing tonight."

Pinnsoneault had said earlier in the day they would concentrate on being relaxed and ready for Sunday's 200 m qualifiers, however, now Broad will be racing again tonight.
