Region Sets Rainfall Record

Sunday's heavy rainfall mixed with flashy thunderstorms dumped a single-day record onto the region.

A total of 32.2mm of rain fell yesterday in Windsor-Essex, breaking a 2007 record of 21.2mm on March 27.

The region also broke a 1954 rainfall record when 41.8mm fell on Thursday.

Environment Canada meteorologist Glenn Robinson says there may be some more rain on the way this week.

"There are some indications that it could be a similar amount, however it's also possible that it's far enough away that if the low track changes then we could get much less," he says. "At the moment it's just an outlook."

Sunny skies can be expected Tuesday and dry conditions on Wednesday.
