Maroons Eliminate Stars

The Chatham Maroons have eliminated the St. Thomas Stars from the playoffs following a 6-1 victory in Game 5 on Thursday.

The Stars were quick to take a 1-0 lead in the first period, but Chatham answered with three of their own to take the lead before the second. The Maroons scored another three unanswered goals in the second frame, and after no scoring in the third, Chatham left the ice with the win.

The Maroons defeated the Stars 4-1 in the best-of-seven series.

Maroons Head Coach Tyler Roeszler says he's extremely happy with the win.

"I think it was a great way to respond from [the loss in] Game 4," he says. "We definitely dominated that team tonight. We did exactly what we wanted to do going into a home game in Game 5."

Chatham will face either London Nationals or the Leamington Flyers in the next round of playoffs.
