March Sentencing For Former Clergyman

A retired Anglican clergyman will be sentenced in March following a lengthy police investigation into allegations of sexual assault and administering a noxious substance.

Harry Brydon who now lives in Harrow was an Anglican clergyman in Chatham in the 1980s.

More than two years ago allegations about sexual improprieties were brought up by a total of three complainants.

Defence Lawyer Dave Jacklin says Brydon pleaded guilty to three lesser but included charges of common assault.

There were no allegations of improper activity at the church, but at the time charges were laid Chatham-Kent police said at least two complainants had been congregation members.
