Auto Show Boosts Local Dealerships

This year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit is expected to drive vehicle sales, especially for local car dealers at the center of the hype.

Peter Frise, the CEO of auto industry research and development initiative Auto21, says the auto show motivates consumers.

"It really is important to have that opportunity to physically to get out there and have a look," Frise says. "I expect dealerships will see a big upswing in door traffic over the next few weeks as people say ok, now I want to go and drive one."

The auto show opens Saturday and runs 9am to 10pm until January 23, with the last day being Sunday January 24 closing at 7pm.

Tickets are $13 for adults, $7 for seniors and kids seven-12.
