Mayor Blasts Photogs For Dangerous Stunt

Chatham-Kent Mayor Randy Hope is expressing mixed emotions now that spectacular pictures taken from the downtown Chatham condo project have gone viral on the internet.

Hope says his initial reaction to seeing the daring photographs was like most people, "wow."

On the flip side, Hope says what the three men did was extremely dangerous and illegal.

"It was wrong what the individuals did," says Hope. "I mean it's nice we're talking about the beauty of the pictures but the point I want to stress is it was done very unsafely, at situations where potentially jeopardizing their lives, and we could have been talking about a tragic situation instead of how spectacular the pictures were."

Some online comments are suggesting the municipality use the photos to promote the region, but Hope says they won't reward individuals who break the law to get the perfect picture.
