Syria Meeting Draws A Crowd

Over 100 people came out to learn how to help Syrian refugees settle in Chatham-Kent.

The Surviving to Thriving Network hosted the meeting last night at Sprucedale United Church in Chatham, and coordinator Maureen Geddes says it was very inspiring.

"People coming together and just saying let's be welcoming, let's do what we can to be global citizens to do our part," says Geddes. "Also to help our own community, to grow ourselves and to enjoy meeting new people and learning more about the world."

Geddes says right now they don't know when any Syrian refugees will be arriving in Chatham-Kent.

The Surviving to Thriving network plans on holding another information session in the new year. For more details on the group, click here.
