Wheatley Sharks Fire Coach

The Wheatley Omstead Sharks will have a new interim head coach for at least the remainder of the 2015-2016 season.

Team officials have confirmed to BlackburnNews.com they've fired head coach Ken Galerno. Head of Hockey Operations Brad Hyatt says it was nothing personal.

"The organization felt that we needed to make a change, but it was not out of an incompentence with Ken Galerno. Ken is a highly capable hockey coach, and we owe him a debt of gratitude."

The team has also announced they've hired Dave Wiper as interim head coach for the rest of the season.

The Sharks currently sit tied for sixth in the Great Lakes Junior C hockey league, with a record of 9-12-2.
