Business Licensing Changes Coming

An update of licensing bylaws will most likely result in some changes to fees and a move to full cost recovery

Manager of Licensing Services Nancy Havens says the plan is to consolidate about 20 individual laws.

"The proposed consolidated business licensing bylaw will take in most of those schedules add a new one update the previous schedules and proposes a full cost recovery," she says. "For some business the fees have been lowered for others it has been a minor increase and others it is a much bigger increase because we are looking at the cost of inspects built into the fees."

A public meeting tonight at 6pm at the Chatham Kent Civic Centre will outline possible changes to the business licensing bylaw.
