Maroons Top Legionnaires For Sixth Straight Win (GALLERY)

The Sarnia Legionnaires' comeback fell short Thursday night, in a 6-4 defeat at the hands of the visiting Chatham Maroons in GOJHL hockey play.

The win marks the sixth in a row for the Maroons.

Sarnia jumped out to a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the game but gave up five unanswered goals in a span of 11 minutes.

Goalie Aidan Hughes was pulled after allowing four goals on nine shots. Shayne Battler made 27 saves in relief.

Head Coach Mark Davis says the goaltending wasn't good enough to win.

The Legionnaires outscored Chatham 3-1 the rest of the way but came up just short.

Newcomer CJ Kusch led the way for the Legionnaires with a pair of goals. The Groose Point, Michigan native was signed to an APJ card before the game after stops in Humboldt, Melfort and Odessa.
