Maroons Take Down Legionnaires 8-2 (GALLERY)

The Chatham Maroons crushed the Sarnia Legionnaires 8-2 in GOJHL action on Sunday.

Despite a 2-0 lead for the Legionnaires in the first period, the Maroons were able to edge ahead 3-2 before the second. Chatham then scored three unanswered goals in the second, and another two in the third for the win.

Forward Gus Ford led the Maroons with a hat trick, scoring one goal in each period.

"I came up for the third (period) and I wanted it, I wanted a hat trick, but I wasn't going out there and being selfish," says Ford. "I took my shot when I had an opening and I was just glad it went in."

The Maroons take on the Lambton Shores Predators next on Thursday at 7pm.
