Almost everyone should get some help when it comes to installing child car seats because, according to some OPP officers, almost all of them need adjustments.
Staff Sergeant Brian Knowler says most OPP officers would say the same.
"I've been on the job 17 years, the majority of car seats that I have seen personally are generally improperly installed," he says. "That's not to say they are all completely flimsy and loose, some of them might need a bit of tightening or one adjustments but some have been real horror stories yes."
Chatham-Kent Public Health and the OPP offer regular car seat clinics. You can book an appointment by calling the public health unit.
