Van Rycheghem Makes The Cut

Kent Bridge's Luke Van Rycheghem is heading to the U-18 Baseball World Cup in Osaka, Japan.

He is one of 20 players from Canada's Junior National Team that will take part in the tournament from August 28 - September 6.

The 17-year-old catcher was shifted around to a number of positions during the recent selection camp in Australia, filling in at first base while spending a couple of games as the team's designated hitter.

Canada opens the tournament on August 28 against Chinese Taipei at 12:30pm Japan Standard Time -- that's August 27 at 11:30pm Eastern Time.
