Common-Law Husband Ducks Knife Attack

An argument between a woman and her common-law husband could have ended much worse.

Chatham-Kent police say the argument yesterday morning turned into a physical altercation, with the woman throwing a kitchen knife at the man, narrowly missing him.

When officers arrived on scene they say the Dover Township woman resisted arrest and tried to flee before she was eventually handcuffed.

The 23-year-old was charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and resisting a peace officer. She was released with conditions pending a future court date.
