Heat Warning Issued For Weekend

Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex.

This as temperatures will continue to climb throughout Saturday and Sunday.

The weather authority says highs will peak around 31 or 32 C (88 or 90 F), while Humidex values will be near 40 C (104 F). Temperatures are expected to be slightly cooler around the lake shore. The heat is expected to die back down Monday, where the average will come in the low 20's or 70's.

The Windsor-Essex Health Unit has issued a Level 1 heat alert for Saturday and Sunday, because humidex values are expected to top 40 C (104 F).
