Cherry Fest is back in Blenheim this week, and with it comes a host of events and activities in the South Kent area.
The midway, Cherry Central, and the "pit-spitting" contest will be in full force from Thursday to Saturday.
South Kent Councillor Karen Herman says the spirit and energy the festival brings to the community is invaluable. "I've been able to judge the pie-eating contest for a couple different years. The spirit there and the fun is about the children in the community."
The festival has resulted in a number of road closures in Blenheim, which are in effect until Saturday, July 18 at 10pm:
- Talbot St. between Chatham St. and Marlborough St.
- George St. between Talbot St. and Ellen St.
- Catherine St. between Talbot St. and Municipal Parking Lot
