Public Meeting For Wind Project

Samsung and Pattern Development are holding a public meeting at Country View Golf Course on St. Clair Rd. north of Chatham tonight to talk about the proposed North Kent Wind Project.

"Folks will let us know where they live -- a lot of times we have people wanting to sign up, so we let them know where the turbines could be going," says Project Developer Jody Law.

The project is set to include between 40 and 50 turbines, and it could be a tight fit.

"The area has a lot of environmental and regulatory setbacks," says Law. "We don't have a whole lot of spots available for turbines and in the same vein we don't have a whole lot of flexibility to move things around too much."

The meeting runs from 5pm-8pm. A hard copy of the report is also available at Chatham-Kent Civic Centre and the Chatham Branch of the public library.
