Warmer temperatures mean summer fun for residents, but it's also prompting some reminders from Chatham-Kent police.
Constable Renee Cowell says motorists need to be extra vigilant with children on summer vacation. "Kids are enjoying their summer holidays, and they may forget the rules to the road, in their excitement. We're asking motorists to please slow down around parks, crosswalks and residential areas."
Speaking of cars, a vehicle in a the hot summer sun can turn into a sauna. Cowell says to leave cars empty when you park them. "Please leave pets at home and not in your hot car. For parents, please be responsible and don't leave your kids in any hot vehicles."
Cowell adds drivers should also be sharing the road with other road users, like cyclists, runners and motorcyclists.
