New Map Walks You Through CK

A new trails map in Chatham-Kent is now available.

Active Communities Coordinator Kathryn Kielstra says with 41 trails across CK, the map will give helpful information to users.

"There will be information about the slope as well as the surface material, so whether that's an asphalt trail or we have granular surface trails or some natural surface trails and you'll be able to judge what type of trail you'll like to go out on," says Kielstra.

Kielstra says 3.5km of new trails have been added across Chatham-Kent each of the last two years. There's over 60km of recreational trails in the municipality.

"The general response on trails is really great," says Kielstra. "Trails provide such a great opportunity for people to get out and get active and that's something that people are really looking to do."

Kielstra puts the trails budget at about $200,000 annually.
