Educating Stroke Survivors

Stroke survivors from across southwestern Ontario are gathering in Chatham today.

The survivors will be joined by their families, caregivers and healthcare providers at the region's first ever Stroke Survivor Congress, which is replacing the annual Stroke Garden Party.

"We had a lovely setting, but sometimes it was freezing cold, sometimes it was stifling hot, so we decided to try an indoor venue," says CKHA Leadership Council member Nancy Snobelen, adding they are hoping to draw people from across the region. "We have a bus of stroke survivors coming from St. Thomas to listen to the education component and to celebrate with everyone as well."

The congress is taking place at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre from 8:30am-3pm.
