St. Vincent Camp Appeal

Operators of St. Vincent De Paul Camp near Bothwell are desperately hoping for public contributions to help build a swimming pool that was supposed to be finished a year ago.

Camp administrator Kerri Wright says the organization raised money and paid about 75% of it to a contractor, but the pool was never finished.

"I have a $40,000 mud pit at my camp, we are not close to a clean water source so the kids need a pool," she says. "We live in a great community, they really rally together for a great cause. I believe that my camp is a great cause in itself we help a lot of people."

Wright says a different contractor is helping the agency to try and resolve the issues but the camp still needs help if the pool is to be finished when the camp opens July 5.
