Apparent Homicide Not Scaring Off Neighbours

An autopsy is set for today in London after an apparent homicide in downtown Windsor.

Police closed off the block around 563 Brant St. after a body was found near an alleyway around 9:30am Thursday.

Les Menear has lived in the neighbourhood for close to four years. The 80-year-old isn't scared off by the scene.

"I hear people talk about how rough this area is; I haven't seen nothing since I've been here," says Menear. "Maybe one little incident there were a couple of kids trying to be rough one time, but nothing bad that would make me want to leave here."

Menear says the area does have some rough characters, but nothing overly worrying to him.

"I see a few when I'm walking down Wyandotte St., but hardcore [people] or maybe the odd prostitute or something like that, but down here nothing," says Menear.

Police investigated well into the evening on Thursday. Anyone with any information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
