Today is the final day for public comment on the plan to continue delivering babies at the Leamington hospital.
Erie St. Clair LHIN Board Chair Martin Girash says nothing can happen until the comment period closes and then officials will start preparing an implementation plan.
"There was some anxiety about conceptualizing that, exactly how it would work," he says. "What we're working on now and will be once the 30 days is up, is an implementation plan that will address those concerns."
There have been some concerns that staffing a delivery room on an as-needed basis would detract from care elsewhere in the hospital.
