Chatham-Kent police are laying charges against a 45-year-old man after he allegedly stole a bike and then dumped it on the road.

Police say the bike, which is worth $1,300, was parked in front of a business on St. Clair St. when the owner saw a man riding away on it.

The owner followed the suspect as he dumped the bike on Galbraith St. and fled on foot before he was eventually arrested in the back yard of a residence in the area.
