Ticks are at their most active this time of year and the public seems aware of the potential for Lyme Disease.
Arndt says Rondeau Park is the only place in Chatham-Kent where deer ticks are known to live."A lot of people are bringing in ticks now to be identified and they are finding them on people and on pets," says Manager of Environmental Services at the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit Rosemarie Arndt. "If it was actually a black legged (or deer) tick on you, the type that has Lyme Disease, then we would send it away and have it tested."
