Ice Jamming Threat Being Monitored

Authorities say "so far, so good" when it comes to ice jamming on the St. Clair River.

Canadian Coast Guard Superintendent of Operations Andy Maillet says the ice bridge on lower Lake Huron has broken up and floes are moving relatively smoothly downriver.

Maillet says fortunately the ice has room to drain into Lake St. Clair and not pile up.

Earlier this month, several homeowners along the river saw their docks destroyed by ice that had no where to go.

The coast guard cutter Samuel Risley is working the river while the Bristol Bay is on Lake St. Clair.
