CEN Biotech Receives Final Rejection

Health Canada has handed down a final rejection notice to CEN Biotech as it tried to obtain a medical marijuana license for its site in Lakeshore.

This comes after a 20-day review by Health Canada officials when they issued a notice of intent to reject the company's license.

On February 20, CEN Biotech also filed a notice with the federal court asking for a review of Health Canada's decision. In the court documents, CEN Biotech alleges Health Canada’s license refusal is “unlawful or unreasonable or both.” Back on December 13, 2013, CEN Biotech also claims Health Canada officials “committed” to issuing a license.

Health Canada doesn't comment specifically as to why CEN Biotech's license was rejected. CEN Biotech has been surrounded by controversy, with allegations swirling about manipulating the stock market, releasing false information and misrepresenting itself.

The lawyer representing CEN Biotech has yet to return phone calls from BlackburnNews.com.
