Business Development Key For Chamber

Sarah Callow is the new chair of the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce and one of her first objectives is to build stronger relationships with different levels of government.

"Collaboration is key and I think working with the municipality, where before we probably didn't have so much of a voice, it is definitely important to business development," says Callow.

The BMO Bank Branch Manager in Tilbury and Merlin has been on the chamber's board of directors since January 2012 and hopes as chair to help change perceptions of the business environment in Chatham-Kent.

"Business development is huge," says Callow. "So, looking at different endeavours that we can do with small business such as entrepreneurship, focusing on apprentice opportunities, co-ops; just making sure that we're focusing on the small business as much as we possibly can."

Callow was appointed as the chair at the chamber's annual general meeting on Thursday.
