Lakers Snap Losing Streak

The Wallaceburg Lakers finally broke their 20-game losing streak after defeating the Alvinston Flyers 5-4 in overtime.

During the game Friday night, the Lakers took a 3-2 lead at end of the first period. After a scoreless second period, the Flyers made a comeback to tie to the game 4-4 and force OT. Lakers centre Ryan Gruszka scored the game winning goal in extra time.

Lucais Meyskens led the Lakers with two goals. Cory Lucier and Mike Brown each scored one.

The Lakers take on the Dresden Jr. Kings on Sunday at 7:30pm.
