Farmers Look For Snow

Warm temperatures so far this winter may be good for keeping heat bills down, but farmers wouldn't mind it a little colder.

Ron Faubert, the president of the Kent Federation of Agriculture, says a blanket of snow would be a good thing.

"It's a concern for our wheat because snow cover always does much better," he says. "As well, we need to develop a reserve for our crops to grow in the spring as far as water in the soil."

Faubert says farmers continue to have concerns about issues related to agriculture such as infrastructure and want to play an active role in the decision making process.
