Healthy Babies Program Working

Chatham-Kent Public Health is seeing positive results from a provincially funded healthy babies initiative.

The program includes a detailed questionnaire designed for expecting mothers, to help identify what level of extended care public nurses need to provide.

"There's a section related to the parents and their demographics and their life situations," says Program Manager Marnie Van Vlymen. "And there's a section all related to parenting readiness."

From there, Van Vlymen says they can educate parents and provide supplementary resources to ensure the best possible upbringing for their child.
