Charge Laid In Crash

Chatham-Kent police have charged a 27-year-old man after a car collided with a transport near Kent Bridge earlier this month.

On November 4, a tractor-trailer struck a car on Kent Bridge Rd. at River Line, causing the transport to flip onto its side and knock down a hydro pole.

Both drivers were taken to hospital and the 56-year-old Ridgetown man driving the transport was later airlifted to London; he continues to recover at a local hospital. Damage was estimated at $160,000.

The Thamesville man driving the car has now been charged with failing to yield the right of way.
