Chatham Woman In Sledge Hockey

A Chatham woman who plays on the Canadian national women's sledge hockey team hopes a recent international tournament will help the women's sport become better known.

Ashley Goure has been on the national team since it started in 2007.

"We are hoping to be a demonstration sport in the 2018 paralympic games in Korea," she says. "And from there by 2022 be recognized as a medal sport."

The tournament held in Brampton last week featured teams from Canada, the United States and Europe and was the first international tournament.
