For the second year in a row, the Erie St. Clair Community Care Access Centre has honoured workers and families of long-term care patients.
They get nominated by the patients they serve. CEO Lori Marshall says all these individuals tend to say the same thing. "Just that overwhelming support that people provide," says Marshall. "It doesn't cost a lot of money, it takes the individuals time and attention."
Sylvie Caron is one of the nominees in Chatham-Kent. She was nominated by a patient, who says she goes the extra mile. "They don't get out very much," Caron explains. "So a lot of tmes if he mentions certain things he needs at the store...before I get there I go get it for him."
