No Relay In Wallaceburg

There won't be a Relay For Life fundraiser in Wallaceburg in 2015.

Officials at the Canadian Cancer Society are asking volunteers and participants to join what they're calling a "Chatham-Kent" relay in Chatham instead.

"It will certainly take away a duplication of volunteer efforts, staff efforts and certainly reduce the amount of cost," says Cindy Vinall, manager of the Canadian Cancer Society Chatham-Kent branch. "It's always a very difficult decision, but I really ask people to keep in mind that cancer isn't prejudiced -- it knows no boundaries -- and hopefully we don't either."

The combined Relay For Life will take place from 12pm to midnight on June 13, 2015 at Chatham-Kent Secondary School.
