Hensall Co-op makes moves to grow

Hensall Global Logistics Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hensall District Co-operative has acquired a majority interest in Overseas Container Forwarding Inc. (OCF) and a minority interest in Overseas Container Logistics Ltd.

OCF and OCL have strong positions in ocean container freight including temperature-controlled cargo, air freight and surface transportation.

OCF has operations in Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA.

OCL has operations in Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg.

“These acquisitions will provide immediate growth and will also be a catalyst in further expanding the Hensall Global business,” said Brad Chandler, CEO of Hensall Co-op. He continued “the strengths and agency networks of both OCF and OCL complement those of Hensall Global and their locations in Western North America will provide us with more service options for our customers. Hensall Global is key to our success in delivering value to our global customers and this acquisition will serve to strengthen our service offering while growing a successful segment of our business.”

Hensall Global’s ocean container shipping volumes are expected to increase significantly.

Terms for the transaction were not disclosed.
