This tool is useful to plan and make decision around cover crops suitable for your farm. The Midwest Cover Crop Decision Tool allows you to make choices by grain type, drainage, class and other factors. It also has information on planting, termination, performance, roles and more.

Grain Farmers of Ontario is proud to support the Midwest Cover Crop Council who developed this App. TheMidwest Cover Crops Council seeks to increase the amount of continuous living cover on the Upper Midwestern agricultural landscape. Living cover has numerous ecological benefits, including improvements in water, air and soil quality.

Adding living cover through cover crops can generate new sources of renewable energy, mitigate greenhouse gases, reduce the use of agricultural chemicals, and provide novel income streams for rural communities. This shift can play a significant and positive role in revitalizing and restoring our lakes, rivers, fields, and communities.

The Midwest Cover Crop Decision Tool can be used by Ontario farmers and can be found online at www.mccc.msu.edu or download it from the App store or Google Play.
