Major Grain Prices Acting Typically For The Holidays

Corn prices saw double-digit gains to start this holiday-shortened week, only to lose it all a day later.

Marty Hibbs of the Grain Farmers of Ontario says the move is still supportive of a challenge of the $3.60 level on the March contract.

He feels a break through of that plateau needs to happen before producers should get excited about further upside.

Soybean prices have found solid support this week at the $10 level.

Hibbs notes indicators are still mixed as prices seem to be stuck in a small trading range lately.

He also points out wheat prices have behaved in a typical holiday up-and-down fashion and kept support at the $4 level.

The analyst says until prices move away from that number, producers won't be able to get any idea of direction for futures prices.
